April 22 is Earth Day.
Every year on this date, the Earth Day movement focuses on one man made environmental disaster that threatens the survival of our beautiful planet.
This year, it’s all about plastic pollution.
Timely, considering the recent news about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch now reaching a size similar to the whole state of Queensland.
As proud inhabitants of one of the world’s most beautiful islands, we know how much a healthy ocean means to our livelihood, wellness and future. Plastics in the ocean is a big issue, and apart from being an eyesore on beaches, they can really have disastrous effects. From poisoning and injuring marine life, to even disrupting human hormones.
That’s why Earth Day 2018 is dedicated to providing the information and inspiration needed to fundamentally change human attitude and behavior about plastics.
