Did you know that Hamilton Island is the only Island in the Great Barrier Reef with its own commercial airport? Making it so easy to fly direct to paradise from most capital cities in Australia!
Serviced by 3 main airlines – Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar – Hamilton Island’s modern, fully-equipped airport welcomes flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns every day.
This, of course, is brilliant news. Especially as we glide into the warmer months when Hamilton Island really comes into its own! And remember, as the gateway to the reef, a quick stopover on Hamilton is the perfect way to start your Whitsundays adventure!
But what price should you be paying for a flight to paradise? We had a quick look at current Jetstar prices for flights from Melbourne and Sydney, along with Virgin Australia prices from Brisbane and Qantas flights from Cairns, to help you plan your trip!
For those in Melbourne, the 3-hour Jetstar flight at this time of the year usually hovers around $470 per person return.
Whereas the Jetstar flight from Sydney, which lasts a little over two hours, starts from $352.
On the Virgin Australia route from Brisbane, expect to pay about $270 per person return for the 1h 40m flight.
But if you’re flying from Cairns on Qantas, prices start from $628.
Prices, of course, will vary depending on when you book and what dates you travel – but these prices should give you a little guide for travelling here during October and November.
