TRIATHLON, NOVEMBER 19, 2022

The Triathlon is an annual island event consisting of a 750-meter swim in Catseye Bay, a 20km cycle around the southern part of the Island, and a 5km run around the marina and resort side.

JUNIOR TRIATHLON

Kids are welcome on the Island during the Triathlon and can also participate in a triathlon race of their own. The Junior Triathlon is a shorter distance race explicitly tailored for kids aged under 14 years old. The Junior Triathlon will take place on Saturday, after the main event.

The weekend doesn't finish with the Triathlon. There's plenty more happening on the Island to keep you entertained. Including:

TRIATHLON TIPS

If you're considering taking on the Triathlon challenge this year, here are some tips to help you train and prepare for race day.

Become familiar with the triathlon course

If you can, familiarise yourself with the triathlon course before race day. This way, you'll know what to expect on the day and can better prepare yourself for the swim, cycle, and run legs of the Triathlon.

Train in open water

If you're not used to swimming in open water, it's essential to get some practice before race day. The conditions in the water on triathlon day can vary, so it's best to prepare for anything.

Slow and steady: Pacing yourself for the cycle and run

The Island Triathlon is a hilly course, so it's important to pace yourself on the bike and during the run. Save some energy for the hills and take it easy on the flat sections – you don't want to burn out too early in the race.

Once you've crossed that finish line, it'll all be worth it as you enjoy the Island's stunning views and celebrate your triathlon completion with a well-deserved cold drink, knowing you've achieved what you came for. And now, you are officially on holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
