You’re on holiday, so the last thing you should be doing is spending hours in transit to your next activity. Hamilton Island is undeniably one of the easiest destinations to get around. The island has a total area of just 5km2, so it doesn’t take long to get from WAHI to the destination of your choice.

When you touch down at Hamilton Island Airport the free shuttle bus will take you directly to WAHI. Shuttle buses are scheduled to coincide with flights, so there’s no lengthy waiting time, and the friendly driver will deliver engaging and informative commentary on your way to the apartments.

From WAHI, you can get to virtually anywhere using the free shuttle bus. The island shuttle bus departs every 15 minutes and does a loop from WAHI to the marina and back, stopping regularly. There are two other bus routes that take you further across to Palm Valley or up to One Tree Hill. These routes are scheduled roughly every half hour.

If you’d prefer to stretch your legs, explore the island by foot. It’s an easy stroll to the Hamilton Island Marina, and you can even walk up to One Tree Hill. Trust us, the view is worth the incline.

The easiest way to get around the island is by bus or on foot, but there’s also the option of hiring a golf buggy for your stay. You can hire one by the hour or day. Enquire at reception.
