The activities available at the Whitsundays seem to be endless. Between the 74 islands and 3,000km of reef it’s impossible to do everything during your time at Hamilton Island, but there are a few things you simply cannot miss. We’ve compiled our top 5 “must do” activities during your stay.

Cocktails at One Tree Hill

If you ask anyone who’s been to Hamilton Island for their recommendations of things to do, they’ll tell you that you can’t miss cocktails at One Tree Hill. Every evening, locals and visitors alike flock to One Tree Hill to watch the mesmerizing sunset and enjoy a cheeky cocktail from the pop up bar. If you’re not a cocktail person you’ll be pleased to hear that there is also a variety of wines and beers available.

You can take the shuttle bus from reception or walk up to the hill (getting a great view of WAHI on the way!)

Stand up paddleboarding at Catseye Beach

Stand up paddleboarding at Catseye Beach is another incredible experience. Catseye Beach’s calm, clear blue waters provide ideal conditions for stand up paddleboarding.

No experience or particularly good balance skills are necessary, and friendly instructors will give you a hand to get you started. If you’re lucky you might see one of the sea turtles that are often spotted swimming in the waters off Catseye Beach.

Passage Peak hike

The view on offer at Passage Peak is one of the most amazing views you’ll find on the island. Get a bit of exercise and embrace Hamilton Island’s natural beauty on the passage peak hike. Don’t forget your camera, and take water with you. The walk can take around 2 hours to complete.

Tube rides

Inject your sightseeing with a little adrenaline and take a tube ride around the waters. Hamilton Island Watersports will take you on a whirlwind ride across the waters off Hamilton Island. For more of a challenge, Hamilton Island Watersports can also arrange waterskiing, parasailing and wakeboarding.

Lunch at the Golf Club

The championship golf course on Dent Island isn’t just for golfers. The clubhouse offers an exquisite two-course lunch package, which includes transfers to and from the island and a tour of the course. With beautiful views over the Whitsunday Islands, perfectly maintained greens and great food, you can’t go wrong with a trip across to Dent Island.
